Gastronomic tour Garda Lake,Venice & Verona
1° DAY: VENICE
Morning arrival in Venice’s airport. Once you clear customs, our representative will meet you and direct you for your transfer, by private boat, to your hotel. A Panoramic sightseeing tour on foot of Venice will include such highlights as St Mark’s Square, the Basilica, the Palace of the Doges and the Bridge of Sighs. A lunch in a typical restaurant will follow. Your afternoon is free to stroll or shop in the Venetian “Calles” and to listen to a waltz concert in the fairy tale-like scenery of St Mark’s Square. Visit to Ca’ Vendramin Carergi, the Villa on the Grand Canal that hosted Wagner between 1882 and his death in 1883.
In the evening, a traditional “Welcome Dinner” will be served in a typical Venetian restaurant. After dinner, you can enjoy the optional Gondola Serenade, a romantic ride through the Venetian canals. Overnight in your hotel in Venice.
2° DAY: VENICE
After breakfast in your hotel, private boat excursion in the Venetian Lagoon with the visit of islands famous for the handcraft: Murano for the glass factory and Burano for the laces. Then the tour proceeds toward Torcello where you will admire the Cathedral with its magnificent Byzantine mosaics and the Church of Santa Fosca. In the evening ,you’ll enjoy an aperitif in a Venetian Bacaro. Venetians are Italy’s biggest cocktail drinkers, and there are hundreds of charming “Bacari” traditional Venetian bars. The Bellini is probably the most famous Venetian cocktail, invented at Harry’s Bar (Ernest Hemingway’s home away from home), made of Venetian Prosecco and fresh peach juice.. Overnight in your hotel in Venice.
3° DAY: VENICE BASSANO del GRAPPA (winery)… DESENZANO… SIRMIONE
After breakfast in your hotel, depart Venice in the morning and reach Bassano del Grappa, a cheerful little town with arcaded streets, standing at the point where the Brenta River emerges from the hills. Depending on the weather, we will drive up to Mt Grappa (5.824 ft), which was the scene of heavy fighting between Austrians and Italians in 1917-18, for an unforgettable view of the Alps. We sill stop at a Venetian winery to taste world-famous wines such as Valpolicella, Bardolino and Amarone. Reach Desenzano and stop for a stroll in its fisherman’s quarter. Proceed to Sirmione, a little spa near the end of the promontory, for dinner and overnight in your hotel Grand Hotel Terme (or similar) a veritable oasis of wellness.
4° DAY: SIRMIONE
In the morning Thermal experience. Remise en form program in the ‘Centro benessere termale acquaria’ with thermal pools, hydromassages, effervescent beds, swan-neck jets, aroma-chromatic showers, vascular programs and wellness cabins, where you can enjoy beauty and health treatments and relax with a splendid view of Lake Garda, where the guests discover not only their wellness but also a sense of inner calm. In the afternoon Visit the Grotte di Catullus, the remains of a Roman villa, which according to the tradition belonged to the Roman poet Caius Valerius Catullus, and then visit the Rocca Scaligera, built by one of the great families of Verona, which is exceptionally beautiful and peaceful.Gourmand dinner overlooking the lake. 5° DAY: GARDA LAKE
ENCHANTMENT UNDER THE LAKE
Excursion on Lake Garda, on board the Star, the only underwater viewing boat, to discover the flora, fauna and prehistoric lakeside paths which inhabit that (such as coasts, fish, algae, birds, reeds etc.) and to find the remains of piles and prehistoric piers. Lunch on board. Exclusive and unforgettable love cruise around the island of Sirmione on board the Star, with a buffet where guests can taste the typical products of the Garda with music and poetry of Catullus (the singer of love).Transfer to Verona and check in at your 5* Baglioni Hotel
6° DAY: VERONA
Visit of the picturesque medieval city of Verona. We will have a guided tour taking in the historic city centre, the highlight of which has to be the Ancient Roman Amphitheatre. We will follow the Shakespearian trail to ‘Juliet’s Balcony’, enjoying the narrow streets, beautiful squares and churches along the way. Visit of the surrounding hills with a winetasting in a famous cellar,San Giorgio and Pieve Romanica .Evening transfer to the Arena di Verona for a performance of AIDA/TURANDOT/CARMEN/NABUCCO. Overnight in Verona
7° DAY: VERONA
Culinary tour.Visit to the ancientstone olive oil mill “Redoro”, whose family has been producing extra virgin olive oil for 3 generations. The green area of Valpantena is only 10 kilometers from Verona: its extraordinary climate is perfect for cultivating and producing an organic extra virgin olive oil.
